AN EXCITING programme of specialist town tours is set to start this month in Ludlow.

In addition to their regular programme of weekend walk-up town tours, the Ludlow guides are offering specialist tours on six Tuesday evenings.

Five will start at the canon outside Ludlow Castle at 7pm, but the first, on May 30, will start at 7pm at Ludlow's railway station.

With a different subject each evening, the tours will feature industrial Ludlow on May 30, names and phrases in a Ludlow setting on June 13, crimes and misdemeanours in Ludlow on June 27, and building stones of Ludlow on July 11.

Do you have a Ludlow or Tenbury story you would like us to include? We would love to hear from you!

The final two tours will be in-character tours with Cecile, Duchess of York and mother of the princes in the tower taking the tour on July 25, and Brother Michael of pre-reformation Ludlow taking the August 8 tour.

Tours cost £5 per head with children free and monies going to support historical research.

Tours need to be booked at the Ludlow Visitor Centre in person, by calling 01584 813705, or emailing
