TWO goals from Connor Davies-Austin helped fire Orleton Colts Reserves to a 5-1 victory over Ledbury Town Reserves in Division One of the Herefordshire FA County League.

Brandon Himsley, Corey Whitticase and substitute Nathan Hardisty were also on target.

Ludlow Town Colts were also among the goals as they ran out 7-3 winners at bottom club Fownhope Reserves.

James Byatt led the way for the visitors with four of the goals, the others coming from Scott Guilbert, Dan Griffiths and Keanu Cooper.

But there was disappointment for Woofferton who lost 4-0 at Hinton Reserves, the lack of recent game time hitting the Blues.

Club spokesman Dave Thomas said: “It's going to take time for us to catch up with the teams that have been playing regularly, but it'll come. We matched Hinton in the first half but we tired and they got the result.”

Woofferton will be hoping to bounce back at home to Weston Under Penyard while Ludlow play host to leaders Kingstone Rovers. Orleton Reserves head to Ewyas Harold Reserves and Orleton’s first team, who were without a game on Saturday, play host to Hinton in the Premier Division.

Shropshire League Premier Division pair Clee Hill United and Craven Arms Town are involved in the league cup on Saturday. United take on Madeley Sports as Town play host to Oakengates Rangers Youth.

Division One side Brown Clee are also in league cup action and make the trip to Albrighton.

In the Mid Wales League (South), Newcastle’s top of the table match at Rhayader Town was postponed. They will hoping for better weather this weekend when they are at home to Llandrindod Reserves.
