TENBURY Amateur Boxing Club head coach Martin ‘Paddy’ Brennan has been knocked out by a £400 donation from West Mercia Police’s Community Fund.
Community support officer Theresa Howell and police officer Tracey Wood presented the cheque to Paddy.
Paddy said: “We’re all very thankful to the police for the fantastic work they do in the Tenbury Wells area.
“They have been hugely supportive of the boxing club and believe that we have played a part in helping reduce antisocial behaviour in the town.
We’ve got some superb young people at the club and it’s great they are coming along to the club rather than being out on the streets.”
The Tenbury Boxing Club founder also paid tribute to his main sponsors.
“Dermot Aherne from the Vaults and Raj from the Shamraj Restaurant have been brilliant — and I am very grateful for all their support.”
