TENBURY 2nd wasted no time in completing a double over Canon Frome to maintain their challenge in Division Four South in the Crusader Worcestershire County League.

Having already won the opening game of the season at Canon Frome easily, and with bad weather about, they put the very young visiting side in to bat and had the game over before rain set in around tea-time.

The visitors did not help their own cause by losing their first wicket to a suicidal run out and then capitulated against Mark Yarranton (5-12), Jim Yeomans (2-24) and Dave Gordon (2-0 off just two balls). They were all out in 16.2 overs with just one batsman reaching double figures.

Tenbury lost Paul Murphy, Rob Felce (13) and Darren Thompson they cantered home in the 13th over to win by seven wickets.

The first team fixture at Canon Frome was called off with the game in the balance when the rain became too heavy to carry on. Tenbury were 62-3 after 18 overs chasing the home team's 197.

The young Frome openers put on more than 60 for the first wicket, with Patrick Kay eventually breaking the partnership. Aaron Morris soon followed up with a second wicket. The home side slipped to 120-4, but their skipper Andy Rogers held the innings together, scoring 64 before falling at 170.

The tail offered little resistance and the innings came to an end after 47 overs. Kay and Morris finished with four wickets apiece.

The rain was falling when Tenbury batted, and when Jon Pearson (12) was out the players came off. Andy Adams (15) and Ian Taylor (15 not out) were the other run-getters.
