LUDLOW CC maintained their impressive start to the Shropshire Premier season with a winning draw at home to Oswestry.
The hosts looked in trouble at 85-5 but Jack Griffiths’ excellent unbeaten 54, supported by Jason Oakes (38) and Sam Roberts (32), helped them post 206-8.
In reply, Oswestry hung on for the draw at 132-9 despite fine bowling from David Peel (4-32) and Joe Williams (3-28).
Ludlow seconds were beaten by big-hitting Ellesmere.
Simon Fletcher’s 79 helped Ludlow post 234-9 but Ellesmere bludgeoned to victory at 235-7 in 26.4 overs led by Jonathan Mitchell’s 91 off 58 balls.
