LUDLOW deserved far better than a late defeat to Kenilworth in Midlands One West, insists head coach Mikey Jones.

The hosts led most of the game through Will Hodnett’s try and eight points from Jack Lines’ boot but Kenilworth edged it 15-13 with a late penalty.

Jones said: “I thought we were the better side all the way through – just the big moments in the game went against us.”

In Midlands Three West North, Cleobury Mortimer lost 37-24 at Aldridge and Clee Hill fell 24-12 at Burntwood.

Tenbury lost 45-12 at home to Ledbury in Midlands Three West South, while Bishops Castle and Onny Vally fell 90-0 at Birmingham and Solihull in Midlands Five.
