THE elongated football season ended with cup heartache for both Ludlow Town Colts Reserves and Tenbury United last weekend.

United’s hopes of ending the season with silverware were dashed by Fownhope, who triumphed 1-0 in the Herefordshire Junior Cup final at the Herefordshire FA County Ground.

There was also disappointment for Ludlow Colts Reserves who were beaten 4-0 by Allscott under-21s in the semi-final of the Salop Leisure League Cup at Shifnal.

The game started with Allscott seeing a lot of the ball and proving to be a very organised side, eventually breaking through and opening the scoring.

Ludlow had a few chances in the first half, as Mackenzie Swift found Khalid Alhoubani who nearly slotted the equaliser.

However, a killer second goal arrived for Allscott as Ethan Schuck took down their striker for a penalty, which the centre-forward tucked away.

The game then got away from Ludlow as Allscott added a third before half-time, although Colts did produce a second-half improvement.

They created a number of chances but were unable to pull a goal back with insult added to injury in the closing stages as skipper Kyle Davies was sent off for a handball on the line and Allscott’s second penalty of the game made it 4-0.
