CO-driver Keaton Williams finally got some mileage under his belt with driver Josh McErlean in the their Hyundai i20 R5 in last weekend's Rally Di Alba.

The Cherasco based event offered 102 kilometres of racing with three loops of three stages and the event attracted a superb entry with 35 R5 cars plus the might of three works Hyundai i20 World Rally Card with Thierry Neuville, Ott Tanak and new boy Pierre Louis Loubet.

For Williams and his partner it was all about getting vital experience on some tough tarmac roads.

The duo had an excellent run apart from a very small technical problem on the dry asphalt and set some consistent times getting quicker over every loop, and were pleased to finish 17th overall.

"We've had a good clean run, this is the first dry asphalt rally we've done, and it's all about building our experience," said Williams.

"When you looked at the entry list it was extremely strong. If you take off the 50 seconds road penalty we would have been 14th.

"Thanks to Motorsport Ireland, Hyundai Motorsport and the boys at PCRS."

Fellow countrymen Josh Moffett & Andy Hayes in another Hyundai i20 R5 finished 15th overall.
