WOOFFERTON bounced back from the previous weekend's surprise league defeat at Bartestree to reach the semi-final stage of the HFA Charity Bowl with a comfortable win over the same opponents.
Things didn't start well for Woofferton, sloppy defending gifting the home side the lead in the opening minutes. Their response was swift, Luke Hicks with a header, and then a precise shot from Aaron Bowden, turning the deficit into a 2-1 lead just five minutes later.
They had taken complete control by the break, adding two more goals on the way. Aaron Hodge headed home from a Dave Chadd cross midway through the half and then three minutes later Jamie Marsh held off a strong challenge before rolling in the other.
With their passage virtually booked, Woofferton eased off in the second half but still scored twice. Marsh tapped the ball into an empty net after Hodge went past the keeper, and Chris Breakwell rounded off the action with a fierce drive from the edge of the box in added time.
