HEAD coach Mikey Jones is confident Ludlow’s flood-hit pitch will be ready to host Midlands One West’s top two in back-to-back battles over the next two weekends.
Storm Dennis left The Linney completely underwater last month but Jones believes it will be fine for when league leaders Kenilworth visit this Saturday.
Second-placed Dudley-Kingswinford are the visitors a week later as sixth-placed Ludlow – who have not played since February – could have a real say in the race for the title.
“The pitch is pretty good now,” said Jones. “There was still a bit of water around last Saturday but with the dry conditions set for this week, the game should be on.
“It’s almost like pre-season again because we’ve had two or three weeks off where all we have done is train so the lads are ready to get back out there.
“We’ve got two top sides coming down to us and we want to do our best to upset them.”
