CHURCH Stretton gaffer Scott Peever has warned his side not to look past this weekend’s challenge as a six-pointer against league leaders AFC Bentley looms on the horizon.

A Dean Richards hat-trick and a Carl Jones strike moved Stretton second in West Midlands Division Two with last Saturday’s routine 4-1 victory over basement side AFC Bridgnorth Development.

They visit second-bottom Worcester Raiders Reserves this Saturday before hosting Bentley seven days later, with Stretton six points adrift of the table-toppers but with a game in hand.

“We’re not getting carried away because it’s all changed in the space of two or three weeks,” said Peever.

“We were looking at the teams around us and thinking we were going to have buck our ideas up because Coven and Bentley were flying.

“Now, we have to make sure we do the business this weekend because we’ve been guilty before of looking too far ahead – it’s only a big game against Bentley if we do the business at Worcester.”

Fourth-placed Ludlow were without a game but visit Walsall Town Swifts this Saturday.
