CAMILLA Parsonage followed in some family footsteps to win the Flowfit Ludlow and District Bowls League’s Junior title as she overturned a large deficit to beat George Cooper in the final.

Her brother Harry had lifted the trophy the previous two years and Bromfield’s Camilla ensured the trophy remained in the Parsonage household despite trailing by 11 shots at one stage.

Parsonage had earlier played in the final of the Handicap Knockout Cup, also held at Ludlow Castle, and seemed to be fatigued as Temesters player Cooper stormed into a 12-1 lead after ten ends.

When Cooper converted that lead into advantages of 16-4 and 18-7 it seemed game over but Parsonage got the block back and stretched Cooper in the corners on the huge Ludlow Castle green.

This proved to be the turning point as she won the next 12 shots straight to lead 19-18.

Cooper got a shot back to level at 19-19 but Parsonage found the two shots she needed to complete a brilliant comeback and win the title for the first time.
