LUDLOW youngster Keaton Williams just missed out on the British Rally Championship Junior co-drivers title, having retired on the last round of the BRC series.
However, his driver Josh McErlean wrapped up the title on the previous round and with this brought a prize drive with Hyundai Motorsport and the British Rally Championship, so the duo will drive a Melvyn Evans Motorsport Hyundai I20 R5 car on next week's Wales Rally GB.
Williams was all set to do the GB National Rally with Ludlow youngster Perry Gardner, the duo had won a free entry for winning the BTRDA R2 Cup.
But now the focus turns to the international event with the duo due to fly to France this week to test a Hyundai R5, in readiness for the race.
They will also be able to have a further test at the Wales Rally GB shakedown in Gwydir Forest.
Williams said: "This drive really came out of the blue and things moved very quickly, I was all set to do the National event with Perry.
"However, it's a great opportunity for Josh and myself to mix it with the WRC 2 regulars, but the aim is to gain experience with an R5 car and try to finish."
