LUDLOW CC continued their improved form by cruising to a 125-run win at bottom side Allscott Heath in the Shropshire Premier Division.

Batting first, opener Okera Bascome bludgeoned 55 off 38 balls, including four sixes, to help Ludlow race past 100 inside the 13th over.

But it was Ludlow’s middle order that won them the game from 127-4 as Sam Roberts (65) put on successive stands of 79 and 77 with Josh Williams (32) and skipper Ruel Brathwaite (47) respectively.

A generous 41 extras from some wayward Allscott bowling aided Ludlow’s cause as they posted 326-8 from their 50 overs.

In reply, the hosts quickly lost both openers but Jason Allen (56) steadied matters.

However, the game was up once Allen fell at 108-4, the first victim of Joe Williams, who went on to take 4-39 before Will Sparrow (2-7) wrapped things up to leave Heath all out for 201 in the 47th over.

Ludlow seconds claimed a similarly impressive win in Division Three, beating Church Aston by 122 runs.

Half-centuries from Luke Hicks (52no), William Wood (52) and Gareth Parker (51) helped them compile 261-5.

Alfie Holliehead (4-35) and Scott Kemsley (3-10) dismissed Aston for 139 in reply, despite a superb 100 from opener Avi Mathur.
