AT least seven races will be on the card this Saturday (April 13) when Bitterley Racecourse hosts Welsh Border Point-to-Point action.
The feature race of the afternoon is the Mixed Open over two-and-a-half miles, worth £700 to the winner.
Last year, Thomas Murray’s Gabrial The Great made all to snatch the spoils, but this year there will be several horses ready to give him a run for his money.
Uppertown Hawk, trained by Sam Jukes, and Jo Priest’s Ballyboker Breeze, a recent Maisemore winner, are likely challengers.
In other action, it is very likely that the JRL Group Point-to-Point Flat Race will be divided having attracted 19 runners.
Bitterley – which is located between Ludlow and Clee Hill, postcode SY8 3HF – offers not only racing action but also a multitude of interesting trade stands and amusement rides.
Entrance is £10 per person, with under-18s and car parking free. The first race on the Ludlow Hunt card is scheduled for 1.30pm.
