TENBURY RFC sealed the Midlands Five West North title in style as they rounded off a fantastic season with a 55-17 win over Chaddesley Corbett.

The Palmers Meadow men quickly put the despair of the previous weekend’s Midlands Junior Vase final loss to Mellish behind them with a nine-try rout.

Director of rugby Andy Black said: “Our objective was promotion without loss, which we have achieved.

“This has come about by great defence and taking our chances which is evident in the stats scoring 434 points and only conceding 72.

“It was a nice way to finish after last week’s disappointment – we had to learn from the cup game and we definitely did.

“We know we can certainly hold our own in the division above but we want to extend the squad because the number of league games increases from 10 to 18.”

Tries from skipper Ben James, Joe Partridge, Alex James and Callum Spires, plus a Zac Thompson conversion, gave Tenbury a 22-0 half-time lead and one hand on the title.

Chaddesley scored 17 unanswered points to make a game of it but further tries from Ben Spires, Callum Spires and a Hobie Gill treble, plus four more Thompson conversions, eased Tenbury to glory.
