TEN-MAN Ludlow produced a superb performance to hold West Midlands One leaders Market Drayton to a 2-2 draw.
Ludlow hockey shook off the first half dismissal of Matt Blount to lead 2-1 at the interval and they remain second in the table despite conceding a second half equaliser.
Table-toppers Drayton led early on with a fierce flick from a narrow angle but Ludlow levelled within five minutes with a reverse stick strike from Jake Watts.
Ludlow then saw a penalty stroke saved and seemed to be in real trouble when Blount was red carded for retaliating to a foul.
But, amazingly, the ten men led at half-time as Ludlow hit Drayton on the counter-attack and Lawrence Richards put them in front.
Ludlow defended valiantly after the break and although a reverse stick strike brought the hosts level, the visitors held out for a point.
Elsewhere, Ludlow Ladies claimed three points in the Marches League as hosts Montgomery were unable to field a side.
