LUDLOW Hockey Club men’s First XI made ground on West Midlands Division One leaders Market Drayton with a fine win last weekend.
Second-placed Ludlow won 4-1 at Aldridge & Walsall to move within three points of the table-toppers, who lost 3-1 at Bromsgrove.
Goals from Craig Heath, skipper Gavin Davies, Jake Watts and Andrew Richards ensured victory for Ludlow, who host fifth-placed Bromsgrove in another big clash this Saturday.
Ludlow seconds beat Stafford fifths 3-0 but Ludlow Ladies lost 2-0 at Bridgnorth seconds.
There was a narrow defeat for Tenbury Ladies’ First XI in Worcestershire League Division One as they lost 2-1 at Kings Heath.
Tenbury had beaten the same opposition at home the previous week but took a depleted squad to the reverse fixture.
Kings Heath took an early lead and although Tenbury equalised from a short corner, the hosts went on to net the winner.
Tenbury will look to bounce back at home to Worcester on Saturday, 12.30pm start.
