SHAWBURY United were unable to hang on for victory at ten-man AFC Bridgnorth as they had to settle for a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw in the West Midlands Premier.
United led early on, bouncing back from their midweek 4-0 League Cup exit to high-flying Haughmond, as Sean Evans slammed home from the spot after a Bridgnorth handball in the area.
Brandon Tanomjit then fired just wide as Shawbury started well but they were rocked by a swift counter from the hosts that led to a Bridgnorth equaliser.
However, Tanomjit quickly put Shawbury back ahead and they looked on course for all three points when a Bridgnorth player was sent off for a second yellow card after fouling United keeper Tom Delamere.
The ten men, though, levelled for a second time and despite enjoying plenty of late pressure, Shawbury – who host league leaders Tividale this Saturday – were unable to find a winner.
