IT has been a successful autumn for Hereford junior squash player, Jack Harris.

Jack, aged 16, who attends Hereford Sixth Form College, won the Worcestershire County under 17s tournament.

He was runner-up in the Lansdown Elite squash open after winning his four qualifying group matches without conceding a game. He followed this by coming a very creditable second in the West Midlands Closed tournament held in Warwick.

Jack, who started playing at Hereford Squash, Tennis and Racketball Centre in Whitecross seven years ago, is coached along with the juniors at the club on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

He has now been selected to play in the English Inter Counties tournament in Manchester and has been chosen for the West Midlands Elite development squad for 2019.

Harris, who is currently ranked number 70 in the National Junior Rankings is now looking forward to playing in the Dunlop British Open in January.

He said: “Many thanks to my coaches Terry Prosser, Ian Johnstone, Tommy Burton and Tej Saran who have helped me get this far.”
