TWO Hereford martial arts practitioners have been honoured for their contribution to the sport and for their charitable work.

Luke and Sarah Hall, who have combined experience in the sport of more than 45 years, have both received Martial Arts Illustrated Hall of Fame awards.

Luke started training in martial arts at the age of four and Sarah at the age of 16.

Both hold many national and international titles including English, British, Welsh, Scottish and Irish championships and, between them, nine world titles.

Luke opened his first class in 2005, and on meeting Sarah branched out to Hereford in 2010.

Together they run two successful clubs in Hereford and one in Worcester teaching a range of students from as young as four in a friendly family environment.

They have on many occasions coached their students into national and international tournament success and supported them in their personal goals whether that has been to achieve a black belt, gain confidence, lose weight, among many other reasons.

The pair were nominated by the editor of Martial Arts Illustrated.

Over the last few years they have raised thousands of pounds for charities including Martha Trust, St Michael's Hospice, Megan Baker House, Rainbow Trust, Children in Need, Comic Relief and, more recently, the Born Sleeping appeal.

Hall family Taekwondo have classes at the Hereford academy every Tuesday evening, the point4 every Friday evening, and Hallow village hall in Worcester every Sunday evening. For information, contact info@halltkd.co.uk or visit www.halltkd.co.uk
