LUDLOW Town Colts boss Scott Mackenzie hailed supersub Daniel Crowther for ‘changing the game’ after he sparked a cup quarter-final turnaround.

Colts trailed 2-0 at home to Lads Club Colts in the Herefordshire Junior Cup last eight on Saturday before Crowther’s introduction from the bench.

Quickfire goals from Crowther and Dan Griffiths brought Ludlow level by the break and they ran out eventual 5-3 winners as Jamil Kezze, Nathan Priday and Simon Bradley all netted in the second half.

Mackenzie said: “We got battered for the first 20 minutes, they came out all guns blazing, but we brought on Dan with half an hour gone and he changed the game for us.”

The Herefordshire Division One leaders bounced back from last weekend’s Shropshire Cup loss to Oakengates – Ludlow’s first defeat of the season – to book a semi-final clash against Shobdon.

Mackenzie added: “There were a few cross words on the pitch after their second goal but once we settled down and played our football, we dominated. They responded the right way.”
