LUDLOW trainer Henry Daly claimed a runner up on home turf at Monday’s meeting.

Daly’s 11/4 bet Finalshot, ridden by Andrew Tinkler, came in second in the first race of the day, the Watch Racing UK Anywhere Maiden Hurdle, behind 2/1 favourite Northern Bound.

Favourites romped home in a further five of the meeting’s seven races, as Micheal Nolan rode Sternrubin to victory in the Heath Farm Meats Handicap Chase; Noel Fehily won the EBF Stallions “National Hunt” Novices Hurdle (Qualifier) on Seven De Baune; and James Bowen rode Thomas Campbell to victory in the Racing UK Members Beginners’ Chase. Edward Austin took the prize in the Watch Racing UK On The Go Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle; and Isabel Williams - on Burn Baby Byrne - was first home in the Rowles Fine Art Handicap Hurdle.
