WITH Ludlow set to turn their attentions to the Shropshire Senior Challenge Cup on Saturday, joint manager Chris Waldron says his side are not out of the West Midlands League Division Two title race just yet.

Ludlow – who visit league rivals Rock Rovers at the weekend – posted an impressive 3-1 win on Saturday, away to an FC Darlaston side who had started the day only one point off the top.

A Tom Everall double and a goal from Jack Davies did the damage, with the visitors holding out as Darlaston threw everything at them in the final 20 minutes.

The result leaves Ludlow fifth, eight points behind new leaders Church Stretton with a game in hand.

“I think [winning the title] would be a bit too much to ask because we had too much of a slow start,” said the joint boss. “But we’ve got Stretton a week Saturday, so if we can get a result there, it could throw us back into the mix. If they beat us, we’ll be out of it.”
