SCOTT Mackenzie admits he is excited by his Ludlow Town Colts strike force after seeing them continue their goal-laden start to the season by beating Hereford City 4-1.

Colts made it three wins from three in all competitions ahead of this weekend’s big test at fellow Herefordshire Division One fast starters Ross Juniors.

An own goal put Ludlow ahead and although Hereford levelled, a Jabez Smith brace and an Andrew Pugh effort gave Colts a comfortable victory.

Colts have scored 17 goals in their first three games and boss Mackenzie said: “It’s a good start and we have got a potentially great strike force. We look really good going forward.

“I think we will give it a good go this season but Saturday (at Ross) will be our toughest so far and it will show us where we are.”

Orleton claimed their first Division One win of the season at the third attempt, thrashing Ewyas Harold Reserves 6-0 with a Kieran Hollis hat-trick, a Shane Jennings brace and a Chris Breakwell goal.
