TENBURY Town manager Keiran Fish was left to rue a poor first half display and a stroke of bad luck as his side exited the Herefordshire FA Charity Bowl at home to Kington Town.

Town led 1-0 through an Ian Patterson penalty after a foul on Al Bright but conceded an equaliser less than a minute later and collapsed to trail 3-1 at the break.

An improved second-half performance saw Town pull one back through Dec Bright’s fantastic solo goal as he beat four players before slotting home.

And they were unlucky not to force extra time as a Patterson header hit the bar and appeared to bounce over the line but the goal was not given.

Fish said: “We were poor in the first half but I gave them a rousting at half-time and we were a different team in the second half.

“We peppered their keeper, who made some good saves, and we missed some one-on-ones but we didn’t really deserve to lose.

“The second half made up for the mistakes we made in the first and we should have got to extra time but it just wasn’t to be.”
