LUDLOW made themselves mathematically safe from relegation with a hard-fought losing draw at Worfield in the Shropshire Premier.
Worfield started well but Joe Williams (3-52) and Luke Miles (2-60) struck regularly to reduce them to 133-6.
However, an unbeaten eighth-wicket stand of 66 between Ian Simmons (45no) and Joseph Arnold (39no) led Worfield to 231-7 from their 50 overs.
In reply, a boundary-laden opening partnership of 148 between Sam Edwards (92) and Miles (60) looked set to lead Ludlow to victory but they collapsed from there as Ryan Quiney (5-46) forced them to settle for a draw at 215-8.
Ludlow seconds suffered a seven-wicket loss to Beacon.
Skipper Luke Hicks top-scored as Ludlow were dismissed for 136 with Paul Aston taking 5-44 for Beacon, who were led home by Martin Lewis (54no) in reply. Cohen Reynolds (2-20) struck for Ludlow.
Bishops Castle claimed their first win since April 28 as they beat Ludlow thirds by seven wickets in Shropshire Two.
Simon Palmer (6-60) and Richard Powell (4-38) skittled Ludlow for 102 as Dylan Grinker (32) and Simon Miles top-scored. Jonathan Price (47) and Richard Fifield (30no) led Castle home in reply.
