An impressive knock of 82 from opener James Manley was not enough to stop Cleobury Mortimer from suffering a ten wicket defeat at the hands of Marches League Division One leaders Luctonians.

Manley and Jake Wadhams put on 68 for the first wicket and further knocks from skipper Sam Evans (29) and Michael Green (33) helped the score along.

But once Manley had been caught for 82, which included 15 fours, there was little to come from the remaining batsmen and Cleobury slumped from 159-2 to 218 all out, losing their last five wickets for just 12 runs.

In reply it proved a punishing afternoon for the home bowlers as Lucs openers Duncan and James Platford bludgeoned their way to victory. The former was unbeaten on 65 but it was skipper James Platford who took centre stage hitting five sixes and 22 fours on his way to 142 not out.

In Division One, Knighton lost by 46 runs at home to Strollers in spite of Jack Kitchen hitting a half century for the hosts.
