LUDLOW boss Luke Hicks admits he’ll be ringing the changes as his side head to Shropshire League Division One outfit Coven United on Saturday in the search for silverware.

The sides go head-to-head in the quarter-finals of the Shropshire Challenge Cup with a trip to Oakengates Athletic in store for the winner.

“We were poor on Saturday so this is a chance for me to make a few changes and give a chance to some of those who have not been getting a game,” Hicks said. “The final will be at the New Buck’s Head so we will still be going with a side good enough to win.”

Ludlow lost 3-2 at Oldbury United in Division Two of the West Midlands League at the weekend, paying the price for a dismal opening few minutes that saw the home side cruise into a two-goal lead.

Hicks added: “The pitch didn’t help, it was awful, but that’s no excuse because it was the same for both sides.

“We were 2-0 down inside 15 minutes but got it back to 2-2 with goals from Jack Marston and Danny Gower.

“They’ve then had a lad sent off and I thought we’d go on and win the game but we haven’t come out at all for the second half.”
