SHAWBURY slumped to a second successive defeat as MFL Premier Division leaders Bromsgrove Sporting ran out 3-0 winners at Ludlow.
But the scoreline was harsh on the home side who had a number of chances to open the scoring before the visitors broke the deadlock three minutes before the break.
Benji Robinson had an effort blocked at the foot of the post early on, Joe Delacoe drilled a shot just wide and Liam Armstrong was denied by a splendid reflex save from Sporting keeper Reece Francis.
Those missed chances proved costly when Richard Gregory opened the scoring, tucking the ball away after Shawbury keeper Ian Havard had parried a header.
United started the second half strongly with Armstrong firing against the post before Delacoe put another effort wide.
And then, just as in the first period, they were made to pay as Gregory bagged his second of the game with a neat finish.
Liam Holt added a third 15 minutes from time and Shawbury boss Dave Richards will be hoping his side can return to winning ways when they head to fellow strugglers Stourport Swifts this weekend.
