LUDLOW came through a busy West Midlands Hockey League weekend unbeaten with a draw and a win in the Premier Division.
On Saturday, an Adam Hayward strike was only enough to earn his side a 1-1 draw at home to county rivals Market Drayton.
He struck midway through the first half to cap a good opening period.
Drayton came more into the game after the interval but struggled to find a way through some solid Ludlow defending.
The equaliser came following a penalty corner and the visitors nearly snatched victory on the break only to be thwarted by the keeper who rushed from his line.
Then on Sunday, a depleted Ludlow came from behind to win 2-1 at Aldridge & Walsall.
The home side struck in the first half when a hopeful shot was deflected over the line.
But the visitors hit back, snatching victory late on.
Skipper Gavin Hughes and Andy Richards both put the ball away from penalty corners.
Ludlow Ladies meanwhile travelled to Shrewsbury 3rds with just ten players and lost 4-0.
