DARTS ace Jim Williams survived a scare to book his place into the last 16 of the BDO World Darts Championship.

It looked like the 33-year-old, who hails from Shobdon, was heading out of the Lakeside event after finding himself 2-0 in sets against Dennis Nilsson.

But Nilsson missed too many doubles and that ultimately cost the Swede, with Williams coming back to prevail 3-2.

Williams, who is seeded number nine for the tournament, started well and opened up a 2-0 leg advantage in the first set.

But Nilsson, who had to beat Jeffrey Sparidaans in a Preliminary Round tie, fought back well to win the next three legs and take the first set.

Williams' chances of winning looked bleak when the Swede then opened up a 2-0 set advantage.

However, the played well in the third set, with a 137 check out helping him reduce the deficit.

The fourth set ebbed and flowed, with both players missing doubles at key times.

But it was Williams who took it and the Welshman went on to win the deciding set.
