AFC Ludlow manager Dave Cooper has conceded his time have "blown" their chances of winning West Midlands League Division One following their fourth successive draw, this time against Stone Old Alleyians.

Stone scored two minutes time last Saturday, meaning that AFC Ludlow are now eight points behind leaders Bromyard Town going into this Saturday's crucial game against St Martins.

"We lost Keanu Cooper in the warm-up so our former captain Jamie Marsh had to play," said Cooper.

"Then two minutes to go, they had a quick throw-in which we go to clear, but the ball rebounded it off their winger.

"He then slid it back in and their striker 'shinned' it past Ian Havard to make it 2-2.

"That really has blown it for us , taking only four points from 12.

"You have to earn wins in football matches, so it's frustrating, even though we're not losing.

"Bromyard are conceding, but they're outscoring the other teams."

Dale Hodge opened the scoring for AFC Ludlow in the 9th minute when he flicked the ball over the head of a Stone defender before smashing the ball home.

Poor defending by Cooper's team then let an away striker to head home to level the match.

Marsh had a great chance to restore parity for AFC Ludlow, but his effort hit a post before landing back into the arms of the Stone goalkeeper.

That took the stuffing out of the Showtime Stadium side, with Cooper admitting that maybe some of his players had Christmas on their minds.

But AFC Ludlow did find the elusive goal 20 minutes from the end when George Sankey set up Marian Jusko to back-heel the ball home.

However, as in previous games, Cooper's team failed to hold on to the lead and had to settle for just the one point.

"There was a bad tackle right in front of the dugout which I thought was a straight red card, but the referee only booked him," said Cooper.

"But to be fair, she did referee the game very well overall and we only have ourselves to blame."

St Martins are just four points behind AFC Ludlow with three games in hand.

A coach will be going to the game, with various pick-ups in Ludlow from 11.45am to 12.15pm.
