WOOFFERTON regained top spot on Saturday with victory against Hinton.
The away side had plenty of possession in the first half but lacked conviction in the final third when faced with opportunities to open the scoring and found themselves a goal down on 25 minutes when some slack marking allowed the forward in and he made no mistake from seven yards.
Danny Gower then had a chance straight from the kick off but his superb volley from 15 yards was well saved by the home keeper.
Despite plenty of possession, Woofferton couldn't turn possession into goals and went in at halftime a goal down.
The second half was a different story as Woofferton came out a different side and the centre midfield pairing of Jamie Marsh and Aaron Bowden took control of the game.
With 20 minutes remaining, Woofferton's continued pressure was rewarded when Steve Minton outpaced the home side's back line and sent over a pin-perfect cross for striker Chris Breakwell to equalise.
With Hinton looking set for an unlikely share of the spoils, the away side's pressure finally told with four minutes to go when full back Jamie Wear burst from his own half and put Dave Chadd in the clear.
He slipped past his marker to square the ball to the returning Ben Apperley, who stroked the ball home from six yards out.
