TENBURY closed the gap on rivals Bloxwich and inched further from the trapdoor in Midlands Five West North.

In one of the best games seen at Tenbury this season, the home side went 3-0 up straight away with a penalty from Ricky Evans.

Bloxwich hit back with a penalty of their own and an unconverted try.

Tenbury replied from good line-out ball which set up flanker Andy Black to score from a rolling maul. The conversion was missed to put the scores level at 8-8.

Bloxwich came back with a try either side of half-time, both converted, to make it 22-8 with half-an-hour to go.

Tenbury scored their second try of the game when winger Karl Pearson ran in under the posts and Evans converted.

The home No 8, Darren Kite, then scored a try near the posts and Evans converted.

Going into the last 22 minutes, it was 22 all when Black scored his second from a well-worked line-out move.

In the closing stages, Kite picked up from the back of a scrum to score his second in the corner to take the final score to 32-22.

Tenbury Firsts are without a fixture on Saturday and the Seconds are away to Chaddesley Corbett in the Merit League.
