Cleobury Mortimer 38 pts Bromyard 5 pts
SAM Sutton scored a try and gave a man-of-the-match display as Cleobury Mortimer blew away Bromyard to go second in Midlands Four West (North).
Former skipper Jon Britton bagged two tries for Cleobury, who gained revenge for a disappointing defeat at Bromyard earlier in the season.
John Hulland, Tom Leach, and skipper Allan Shields also scored in the match which was brought to a halt 15 minutes early by the referee.
Shields also kicked four conversions for Cleobury, while youngster Oliver Haywood had a maiden score ruled out because the referee was unsighted.
Shields said: “We scored almost straight from the kick-off and, even against the strong wind, we well and we dominated the game.
“We don’t want to lose to anyone at home or lose to a team twice, so we were thrilled.
“The conditions were tough and Bromyard weren’t showing too much and referee called a halt to the match with 15 minutes remaining.”
Cleobury have a tough trip to fourth-placed Cannock this Saturday.
“Clee Hill didn’t play last weekend, so we have now gone second in the league,” said Shields.
“Bromyard told us they played at Cannock a few weeks ago and the conditions were horrendous.”
Bishops Castle are scheduled to host Greyhound in the league this Saturday.
