THE Richards brothers, Andy and Stuart, each scored in Ludlow Hockey Club's 2-1 win at Tamworth in the West Midlands League Division One.
Tamworth reduced arrears in the closing stages but Ludlow held firm to take important points which keeps them within reaching distance of the top two teams.
A late goal from Ollie Boulton helped Ludlow 3rd to a 2-2 at Tamworth in a competitive match.
Kevin Boulton had opened Ludlow's account, while goalkeeper Henry Downes was in top form.
Ludlow Under-18 boys recorded a win and two defeats in the England Hockey Under-18 Boys Indoor Midlands Round at Aldersley.
Despite goals from skipper Jake Watts and Joe Haywood, Ludlow were pipped 3-2 by Lichfield.
Tyler Davis, Watts and Haywood netted in Ludlow's 4-2 win over Wolverhampton. New recruit Ben Lowe starred in goal.
And then Haywood was on target at Ludlow suffered a 4-1 loss in their final pool match against Belper.
Meanwhile, Ludlow are preparing for the Teme Leisure Indoor Tournament at South Shropshire Leisure Centre on December 29 from 11am.
The Ludlow-based competition might see a switch to the new 5-a-side structure, says organiser Martin Watts.
