CARL Lambert is confident manager Darren Worthington can guide Tenbury Town to promotion from Herefordshire League Division Three, writes Chris Plant.

Town spokesman Lambert says Worthington is capable of taking the club to a top-six finish in Division Two next season.

“Darren is hugely important to us and a staple of our success, he is always working,” said Lambert.

“We have a great relationship and the unity he has instilled in the club is a key factor to our success.

“We are looking good for promotion and I believe we can achieve a top-six spot in Division Two.

“Dar ren and I have a g reat relationship and I hope he stays at Tenbury Town for a long time to come.”

Lambert says there are some tricky fixtures before Town can look to celebrate their maiden promotion.

Tenbury host local rivals Orleton Colts Reserves at Palmer’s Meadow this Saturday.

Town’s match at Relentless was postponed last weekend because their opponents could not raise a team.

And Town will face title-rivals Bromyard FC in their last game of the season.

Lambert said: “The top two teams go up and it’s looking like that will be us and Bromyard.

“Orleton and Tenbury Colts are tough games, but Bromyard will be the toughest test for us.”

Lambert added: “We need Bromyard to slip up a few times, and if they do, the match between us could be the title decider.”
