FORMER Cleobury Mortimer rugby star Tom Redfern has joined National Three South-West outfit Malvern.
Malvern press officer Peter Woods says Redfern has got ‘a touch of class’ and shone in his two first-team outings for the club.
“Tom scored almost all of our points on his debut and, last weekend, he kicked three first-half penalties which kept us in the game.
“He’s a very good player and has got a tremendous pass on him. Tom came to us after playing in the Italian second division and he’s got a touch of class.”
Woods added: “We lost eight players when we had to level transfer from the Midlands to the South-West.
"We like to push players forward and I am sure we will do that with Tom. Tom’s a class act and we hope to keep him at the club for another season.”
Malvern lost 52-23 at Redingensians last Saturday, while Tom’s old club, Cleobury Mortimer, crashed to a 35-10 defeat at Newcastle (Staffs) in Midlands Three West (North).
