A TERRACED home in Amblecote with a guide price of under £40,000 has been snapped up at auction.

The two-bed property in King William Street had a guide price of £34,000-£39,000 but eventually sold for more than three times that at the latest remote bidding auction held by Bond Wolfe Auctions last Wednesday (July 29).

In need of modernisation - the house which has two reception rooms, a cellar, kitchen, bathroom, WC, two bedrooms, a rear yard and store, was sold for £107,500 in the end - but still something of a bargain given the average price of a terraced home in Stourbridge is estimated by Zoopla to be around £167,950.

Meanwhile - down the road in Wordsley a traditional three-bedroom semi which had a guide price of just £25,000 sold for a whopping £213,000 when it went under the hammer at the same sale - well over the average price of £168,014 estimated by Zoopla.

Stourbridge News:

The property in Oakfield Road occupies a corner plot and has a driveway, garage, gardens and rear outbuilding with two reception rooms inside, a hallway, kitchen, three bedrooms and shower room/WC.

Bond Wolfe Auctions chief executive Gurpreet Bassi said of the sale: “Once again our latest auction has surpassed all expectations.

“We are already experiencing strong levels of interest for our September auction from all over the UK with both our sellers and buyers appreciating the strong marketplace we provide.”

The next Bond Wolfe Auctions sale will take place from 10am on Wednesday September 16 and again it will be livestreamed via the auctionhouse website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet only.
