TWO people were rescued by firefighters after a fire ripped through a factory in Brierley Hill.

Six crews raced to the premises on Leys Road in the Brockmoor area on Thursday night (June 4).

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to battle the flames, while smoke billowed from the roof of the factory.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Fire Service tweeted: "We have six crews from Brierley Hill, Haden Cross, Stourbridge and Tipton attending a factory fire off Leys Road in Brockmoor, Brierley Hill.

"Two persons have been rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus. Crews continue to tackle the fire."
