THE directors of Caremark, David and Caroline Balmer, want to thank their dedicated staff and all the keyworkers who have been working during the lockdown period.

The directors say: “We would like to say a big thank you to all our key workers and the Caremark team who have been working tirelessly for their customers during the Covid-19 outbreak.”

Caremark provide care ranging from hourly visits to live in care. Live-in care is Caremark’s specialised care service for people who need care and support with day-to-day life, but also want to live as independently as possible.

A popular alternative to living in a residential care home, it’s live-in care service enables people or their loved one to receive tailored, professional support 24-hours-a-day, at home.

During this lockdown period Caremark’s compassionate carers have been working to carry on their usual work of helping with things such as shopping, housekeeping and cooking, whilst meeting dietary and nutritional needs, companionship and emotional support.

Many carers become more like friends, with daily activities and accessing local support, help whilst using mobility aids, administering medication and attending doctor, dental or other appointments. Caremark also helps with household bills and general admin as well as help with pet care, dog walking and feeding. Caremark works with people and with loved ones to create a personalised care plan that includes any essential care, alongside daily personal activities and household duties.

A typical morning might include Theresa helping George get washed and dressed, before assisting with preparing and eating breakfast. Theresa will then work with George or his loved ones to carry out household chores such as shopping, cleaning and tidying. Theresa can lighten the load by helping with laundry and ironing, as well as changing bedsheets and cleaning the bathroom. George is a keen gardener but is struggling to get outside so Theresa can help with mobility, then help water the plants and keep bird feeders topped up. There are no set routines or timetables, only those people, their friend or relatives decide upon.

The directors added: “It’s living life your way in your own home, with the peace of mind and security that comes from having extra, all-important professional support on tap.”
