A MAN has been taken to hospital after reports of an assault outside the Fownes Hotel in City Walls Road.
Three men have been arrested in connection with assault and are currently in police custody.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Police were called to reports a man had been assaulted outside the Fownes Hotel in City Walls Road in Worcester just after 1am this morning.
"A 29 year old man was taken to hospital for treatment. Three men have been arrested in connection with the assault and are currently in police custody.
"Enquiries are on-going. Any witnesses can ring 101 quoting reference 42s 250520 or alternatively information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
Witnesses say two police vans were parked on City Walls Road. They report seeing police tape blocking the road and the car park at The Fownes Hotel.
A member of staff at the hotel confirmed the attendance of the police but said "it it nothing to do with the hotel itself."
The cordon has since been removed and City Walls Road and The Fownes hotel are open as usual.
