SCHOOL transport will continue as planned for the foreseeable future despite schools closing to some students this afternoon.
Herefordshire Council has said with the exception of three schools which have already closed, other transport will continue from Monday "until further notice".

The Government announced that schools would close to all pupils on Friday afternoon, except for children of key workers.
The list of such workers was released this morning, with places kept open for those pupils whose parents work in jobs such as the NHS or transport.

"The Prime Minister has announced schools will continue to be open for students of key worker families, those with education, health and care plans and other vulnerable children, for example those open to children’s social care," a council spokeperson said.
"The extent of the transport network required to facilitate this attendance is currently being assessed.

"To ensure transport is available from Monday for those students that do still need it the current network will continue.
£With the exception of transport to Barrs Court, Blackmarston, and Westfield schools that are closed, school and college transport services will continue to operate as normal from Monday, March 23 until further notice."
