Resident of Newport House, Adam Lynch, has praised Crowngate shopping centre for providing parking spaces during the floods.
Mr Lynch: “On Sunday evening the river flooded our underground car park and entire bottom floor. Building residents pulled together getting our vehicles out of the building whilst we were under roughly 2ft of water.
“But the biggest surprise, and relief, for many residents, has been the staff at Crowngate offering us free, safe parking for our vehicles whilst the flooding persists.

"Without them we would have very limited on road parking where vehicles would still be at risk of flooding should the river rise again.”
