THE county councillor for highways has clarified that he will definitely be bringing in a 'rent for lanes' charge, as he said hitting utility companies in the pocket was the only thing that matters.
Earlier this week we reported Worcestershire County Council is still considering whether to bring the scheme in that sees local authorities charge up to £2,500 a day to dig up a road at peak times.

But Councillor Alan Amos has now said: "There is no consideration, we will be introducing it in April 2021.
"It will mean if they don't finish (work on time) it will cost them. I have zero tolerance - they have got to think about county people."
