SKYWATCHERS have been treated to the first full moon of the year – known as a ‘wolf moon’.
The first full moon of the year is named after howling wolves and originates from the early Native American tribes.
It was known as this because of the time of year when hungry wolf packs howled outside their camps.
This year, the wolf moon coincided with a lunar eclipse - the first of four such eclipses expected to happen this year.
Readers from across Worcestershire sent in these stunning pictures of the night sky on Friday, January 10.
There is also set to be a full moon on March 9 - so mark the date in your diary.
