An appeal has been launched against the decision of the Forest of Dean District Council to refuse planning permission for an abattoir at Green Hill Farm.

In response, Dymock Parish Council, which objected to the proposal, has once again employed a professional planning consultant to put forward the case against allowing an abattoir on the site.

Cllr Terry Ball, chairman of Dymock Parish Council said: “The sight, smell, noise and increase in lorry traffic caused by such a business would adversely affect the lives of the parishioners whose homes are very close to this site.

“Furthermore, it would severely deter the many workers and tourists who visit Dymock throughout the seasons, for its panoramic views and natural beauty.”

Any with views about the application, for or against, can make them known to the Forest of Dean District Council , and a link can be found on the Dymock Parish Council website at: dymockparishcouncil.org. Sarch for Green Hill Farm.

Closing date for submissions, January 7.
