A TRIBUTE act at The Marrs Bar in Worcester is sure to strike a chord, or even three or four chords, for die hard fans of those rock legends known as Status Quo.

Keen followers will tell you that the curiously-named Dog of two Head are are one of the top cover bands of Status Quo in the UK.

But what can a more general audience expect?

A spokesman said: “The band, who are from the Midlands and South Wales, pride themselves in being die hard Quo fans and will give you a set from Quo’s heyday in the 70’s.

“Each song is performed and recreated as close to the original recording as possible. You only have to listen to these guys live and rehearsal videos to hear that these four know what they’re doing with Quo’s music.”

The spokesman added: "Hear blistering renditions of some of Francis Rossi‘s finest solos. Hear a hard rocking second guitar matching the unique rhythm talent of Rick Parfitt.

“Heavy bass lines and a solid groove on the drums will be providing the perfect engine room that Coghlan and Lancaster would be proud of, and all backed up with powerful vocals and a three piece harmony.

“If you want a night of solid boogie rock then look no further. These boys will rip you new earholes and no doubt will leave you wanting more. Accept no substitutes.”

Status Quo are the kings of Boogie Rock. Their music might be less complex or challenging that some other rock bands, but their legacy is assured.

In fact, the band has notched up more than 60 chart hits in the UK, which is actually more than any other rock band.

Notable toe-tappers include Rockin’ All Over the World, Whatever You Want and In the Army Now.

Twenty-two of those hits reached the Top 10 in the UK Singles Chart.

Notably, Status Quo were picked to be the opening act of Live Aid at Wembley Stadium

. In 1991, Status Quo received a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
