IT’S nearly time to celebrate the dawn of a new decade in style, as we say goodbye to 2019, and hello to the 2020s.

We asked Worcester News readers where the best place is in the city to kick off the new year and to enjoy the celebrations, and we were sent plenty of suggestions.

Tom George said: “Tonic and The Plough, different vibes, but both fantastic.”

Shane Pollard said: “We are just having our usual fun night at Tonic. No silly entry fees or anything like that.”

Ellie Jane Reynolds said: “Velvet nightclub for New Year’s Eve”, and Shannon Belson agreed saying: “Velvet never fails with an amazing night out.

"What better way to rein in the new year than having the best night out Worcester has to offer in Velvet - definitely my choice.”

Chris Burton said: “The Paul Pry, always a great night out, especially for new year”, and James Eades said: “Paul Pry hands down.”

Rita Mullen said: “The New Inn at Claines.”

Tara Moore said: “Browns - great night.”

Jenny Fazliu said: “Bolero Bar and Kitchen is doing sharing platters and a glass of bubbly for New Year’s Eve with a DJ providing the entertainment. Always a great night out."

But Isobel Kathryn said: “Party at home, it’s cheaper, don’t have to worry about getting a taxi home and getting home safely, no queues for drinks, get some food as well.

"New Year’s Day is overrated in any event, it’s just another year.”

And Sonia Chance said: “Should imagine at home be far cheaper.”
